Alan Steinheimer offers creative lighting for video production and stills as a gaffer and lighting director. My 30+ years of experience brings focus and problem-solving muscle from the first phone call to the final invoice. My strengths are my creativity, speed, and crew management. I run most sets with LED lights controlled by an iPad running Blackout. I can improvise until wrap, or follow a DP’s detailed plan. I can choose from a wide variety of grip trucks in my shop compound to scale for each production size. Working as the rental house and gaffer ensures reliable and speedy delivery of all the ordered gear, and the extras that owner-operators bring just in case. I am also the author of a Focal Press book of lighting: Shaping Light for Video in the Age of LEDs.
